چکیده

Background In patients with breath-holding difficulties or arrhythmia, real-time CINE-MRI is preferred over segmented acquisitions in one breath-hold. However, common real-time sequences require a deteriorating trade-off between spatial and temporal resolution. In the current work, highly accelerated real-time CINE-MRI which features compressed sensing with k t regularization [1] was evaluated against segmented and real-time imaging with TSENSE in healthy volunteers as a potential alternative providing both high spatial and temporal resolution in real time.

Highly-Accelerated Real-Time Cine MRI using compressed sensing and parallel imaging

Introduction Breath-hold cine MRI with balanced steady-steady free precession (b-SSFP) may yield non diagnostic image quality in patients with impaired breath-hold capacity and/or arrhythmias. In such patients, it may be necessary to perform real-time cine MRI. Currently, dynamic parallel imaging methods, such as TSENSE [1] and TGRAPPA [2], can be used to achieve only moderate acceleration rate...

Highly accelerated real-time cardiac cine MRI using k-t SPARSE-SENSE.

For patients with impaired breath-hold capacity and/or arrhythmias, real-time cine MRI may be more clinically useful than breath-hold cine MRI. However, commercially available real-time cine MRI methods using parallel imaging typically yield relatively poor spatio-temporal resolution due to their low image acquisition speed. We sought to achieve relatively high spatial resolution (∼2.5 × 2.5 mm...

Feasibility study of a novel acquisition technique of cardiac cine magnetic resonance imaging in patients with atrial fibrillatio

Background For patients with arrhythmia, conventional segmented steady-state free precession sequence (CINE-SSFP) methods may result in poor image quality. Real-time cine could avoid those limitations, however poor spatial and temporal resolutions of conventional sequences have prevented its routine application. Recently a newly developed compressed sensing (CS) cine shows the ability to provid...

2D bSSFP real-time cardiac CINE-MRI: compressed sensing featuring weighted redundant Haar Wavelet regularization in space and time

Methods Sparse, incoherent sampling was implemented in a conventionally triggered 2D bSSFP real-time cardiac CINE-MRI sequence. The sampling pattern features an increasing acceleration factor towards the k-space periphery while all phase-encoding steps outside a central region were skipped on one side. Pairing of successive readouts was used to avoid eddy currents. In addition, a pseudo-random ...
